Accessibility statement
Accessibility
We support people with disability, so our website has to work for people with disability. This statement explains what we've done, what isn't finished yet, and how to tell us about a problem.
Our standard
This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. The Australian Human Rights Commission recommends this standard for websites under the Disability Discrimination Act.
What we've done
- Every text and background colour pair meets the WCAG AA contrast ratio, most of them with room to spare.
- A text size control and a high-contrast mode at the top of every page. Your choice is remembered in your browser.
- Body text is 18 pixels or larger, in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for low-vision readers.
- Every page has a "Skip to main content" link and a visible focus outline, so it works with a keyboard alone.
- Headings, landmarks and lists are marked up properly for screen readers.
- Every form field has a written label. Errors are listed at the top of the form and next to each field, in words, not just colour.
- Nothing moves, flashes or plays by itself.
- An Easy Read page with short sentences and pictures.
What isn't finished yet
- Photos: alt text will be written with participants when real photos are added.
- PDF documents such as the participant handbook and service agreement are not yet fully accessible. Ask us and we'll provide them in another format.
- Testing with screen reader users before launch.
Tell us about a problem
